The Council of Graduate
Students (COGS) functions as the Student Government body for
Regent University’s seven
graduate schools. The students of each school elect two
senators to serve as a representative voice on important issues. A
chaplain and two representatives are also selected. COGS
serves as the liaison between students and the university
administration.
Dede Robertson was the leading force behind
the creation of COGS. Her
goal was for students on campus to have a voice. Fulfilling
her dream, COGS seeks to communicate the needs of students
to the administration, faculty, and staff.
However, COGS plays an important part in
the daily lives of students. Its
members also serve as spiritual leaders on campus. Additionally,
COGS hosts numerous events designed to unify students from all seven schools. These events bring together individuals with different
backgrounds, callings, and testimonies through chapels, coffee
houses, picnics, meet & greets, or other special events.
